Let’s face it.  It isn’t about 21st Century Skills anymore.  It’s about what students need right NOW to make them college, career, and life ready!

IT isn’t just a name, it's an experience.  And when we say Innovative Teaching, we mean it.  Innovation isn’t just about the cool and the new, sometimes it’s about taking something tried and true and making it really work in a new way.  There’s been plenty of talk about 21st Century Skills in recent years, but what schools need now are teachers and leaders who are willing to engage kids in those skills.  We’ve pooled together a cadre of innovative thinkers and innovative teachers to talk about tools and techniques that innovate on ideas like critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

The IT experience will connect you with Innovative Thinkers and Teachers that use Innovative Techniques and Tools to engage 21st century learners.

Innovative Thinkers...
This summer we’ll be hearing from innovative thinkers who have been around the world—literally—looking for what really works in education.  They’re innovators themselves and they know a lot of innovators too.  Our lineup of thinkers is sure to challenge you to look at things differently and perhaps refresh some old ideas too.

Innovative Teachers...
We’ll also be hearing from innovative teachers from right in our own back yard.  These western New York educators know what it means to innovate when it comes to engaging students to help them be their best.

Innovative Tools and Innovative Techniques...
And what are innovative thinkers and teachers without innovative tools and techniques?  Learn about how innovative educators are using research-based practices and combining them with engaging technology tools.

  • The Innovative Tools sessions will explore various innovative web 2.0 tools as demonstrated by innovative educators from across the region.
  • The Innovative Techniques sessions will combine an innovative educator with Marzano's research based strategies.  Classroom Instruction that Works is a classic text that equates to best-practice and 21st century learning.  Sessions will highlight one strategy as demonstrated by a classroom teacher at various grade levels.
